My Journey Week 6 and 7

Wow a lot has happened in the last 2 weeks.  I was on vacation for a week and had a blast catching up with friends and family.

Week 6 weigh in was .6 pound lost.  I was a little frustrated with the results but kept telling myself a loss is a loss.

Week 7 weign in was 0 pounds lost but 0 pounds gained.  I was ESTATIC about this.  While on vaction I did not track one single point and I did not eat exactly healthy.  I did watch my portion sizes and I did work out HARD three of the 6 days I was gone.

The theme for the last 2 weeks has been RECONNECTING.  I was able to reconnect with 4 friends from high school.  3 of those friends I hadn't seen in almost 21 years and my other bestie I hadn't seen in 5 years.  What was so cool is even though we hadn't seen each other in 20 years, we acted and talked like it had just been days since we last had last seen each other.

I also got to reconnect with my 3 nieces who I hadn't seen in 5 years.  2 of my nieces were 2 years old last time I saw them and really don't remember how cool their Auntie Diva is.  I got to spend the day with them on Monday and it was so much fun.  They had me laughing so hard and I miss them so much.

I LOVED running outside while I was in Washington.  I have to find some running trails in Texas.  Nothing in Texas will compare to the scenery that I experienced in Washington.

We signed up for our 1st 5K run in March and now it's time to really get serious about this running and make it happen.

My Journey Week 5

I know I'm a day late in posting this blog.  Little Drama Queen had a gymnastics meet this weekend and her gym was hosting so I worked the whole weekend at the gym.

Weighed on Wednesday and was very pleasantly surprised that I lost 1.2 pounds.  I was still trying to get back into my groove of eating healthier and there was still some leftover stress from Older Drama Queen's knee injury.

The theme for last week was BLESSED!!!  I have really reconnected with friends that I went to high school with 20+ years ago and we have really inspired each other and held each other accountable.  In addition to reconnecting with friends, I have met some great ladies over the last 6 months or so.  I've even started a mini workout group and Little Drama Queen's gym.  We keep each other going and lift each other up when one of us just isn't feeling it.

I was a little nervous going into the weekend due to being at the gym 12+ hours each day.  I had 2 friends hold me accountable and make sure I didn't drink a Coke or run out and grab fast food.  They were even thoughful enough to not eat fast food around me.  I packed my food for the day and snacked when I got hungry.  Not one time did I crave a Coke or fast food.  I did have a few slivers of dessert and nachos on Sunday but I'm human and did not over do it.  I even earned activity points for walking around the gym like a chicken with its head cut off.

Well it's time to wrap up my day and prepare for tomorrow.  Got to start packing and getting ready for my mommy vacation.  Looking forward to seeing my friends and family in less than 48 hours!!!

My Journey Week 4

This week's weight loss was 1 pound.  I've lost a total of 5.4 pounds in 4 weeks.  My goal is to be at my target weight by the end of the year so if I keep losing a pound a week, I'll make it.

The theme for this week was CHAOTIC.  Older Drama Queen got hurt at a basketball game a little over a week ago.  We were at some type of doctor visit every day this week.  Juggling work, school, working out, and trying to stay on track with my eating proved to be very difficult.

While I stayed away from junk food and Cokes, I did not eat very well this week.  On top of taking care of Older Drama Queen, Little Drama Queen had the flu, and I was dealing with some sort of flu like illness myself.  I had no appetite all week and struggled with eating.

I did manage to work out but my 5K training was horrible.  I couldn't focus while running.  Mainly because I was battling a low grade fever, while sneezing and having a runny nose.  I will probably try week 4 again since it really will not do me any good to try week 5.

Friday night my body shut down completely.  I went to sleep around 9 pm on Friday and did not FULLY wake up until 12 am Sunday.  I did get up long enough on Saturday to eat some lunch, but that was about it.  And I'm not talking about laying in bed watching TV rest.  I'm talking about fully asleep, could not keep my eyes open.

So today is a new day and next week is a new week.  I'm going to try and run today and get back on track with my eating.  Wish me luck...
